Biography

Tracy Myers and her twin sister were born shortly after the end of the Global Civil War. She grew up in a middle class family living in a small rural town. The town's distance from any major cities allowed Tracy and her family to survive the Zentraedi assault, though they did become refugees because of the chaos that followed.

A tomboy, Tracy decided to join the military when she was old enough. At the time the fledgling Southern Cross was recruiting and readily accepted the athletic young girl. Tracy became one of the first group of hovertank pilots, serving under Jonathan Wolfe during the Malcontent Uprisings. It was there that she also met Jack Mace, beginning a long-running on again-off again relathionship.

Tracy's career as a Veritech pilot was cut short because of an incident that occurred after the Uprisings. After a night of celebrating a little too hard Tracy took her tank out for a joyride and wound up destroying a General's car. A superior officer who was also a good friend kept Tracy from being kicked out of the military completely, but she was still forced to leave the Armored Corps and transfer to regular infantry, joining the Tactical Corps.

Though a gifted soldier, a streak of bad luck followed Tracy, driving her into a depression. She began gambling and lost a considerable sum of money. Shortly after she was involved in an accident that had her in hospital for several months. After her recovery, Tracy was transferred to Australia where she was reunited with Jack Mace, who was now a hovertank squadron commander. Tracy worked hard and also managed to get an officer commission, earning command of a small Tactical Corps squad. Her bad luck surfaced again however, this time resulting her in earning a black mark on her record for insubordination, followed a few months later by the death of a close friend.

During the recent global conflict Tracy's Tactical Corps squad often worked with Jack Mace's 21st ATAC. During these joint operations Tracy took a liking to Indira Watanabe, a young hovertank pilot that reminds Tracy of herself. Tracy has taken Indira under her wing, helping to train the young soldier.

Update: Tracy and her marines continued to work with the 21st ATAC into the Second Robotech War. When the Southern Cross started to become desperate for more resources, Tracy was reinstated as a Veritech hovertank pilot and joined the 21st as the new second-in-command (much to Cavalier's chagrine).

During a mission to infliltrate a Robotech Masters vessel Tracy and several other soldiers were captured by the enemy, and official Southern Cross policy was that the enemy did not take prisoners so she was declared dead (a fact that angered Captain Mace, who wanted to make a rescue attempt and was refused). Recognizing her skill as a soldier and mecha pilot, the Robotech Masters brainwashed Tracy and turned her and the other captured soldiers into Bioroid pilots. As an enemy pilot Tracy soon faced off against her old teammates in the 21st, even killing one of them. Members of the 21st recognized the combat style of the deadly Bioroid and realized it was Tracy. Several members of the 21st then plotted a rescue attempt, eventually going over the head of the base C.O. to get permission for it. The plan worked and Tracy was captured and brought back to base. After a few months she was successfully de-programmed and rejoined the 21st near the end of the war.

Tracy was killed in the 21st's last battle of the war. After infiltrating a Robotech Masters mothership Tracy, her lover Captain Mace, and another member of the 21st were cut off from the others. While the rest of the squadron escaped the trapped trio set off a nuclear bomb smuggled in by a now-dead special forces team, sacrificing themselves to take out the alien ship.

Call Sign: Tracy's call sign comes from her time at the Academy. One instructor with a thick accent pronounced her name in such a way that it sounded more like "tracer" than Tracy. The instructor called on her frequently and her fellow cadets picked up on and further exagerated the pronunciation. Tracer became a cadet nickname that eveolved into her call sign.
