Southern Cross Who's Who - Tomas "Reaper" Kessler

Personality

Tomas is a very dark person. Arrogant and quick tempered, he keeps his malevolent nature hidden behind a conservative and occasionally irreverent veneer. Privately Tomas often thinks of little other than to take revenge on all those he sees as having wronged him.

Biography

Tomas was born in Germany and he and his family were part of the many groups of refugees left wandering the ruins of Europe. The were placed in one of the many refugee camps set up during the Reconstruction, and remained there after the EBSIS claimed what was left of Germany as part of its territory. The refugee camps were little better under the Soviets than they had been under the United Earth Government and Tomas learned to fight to protect what was his. When Tomas' parents were murdered, Tomas tracked down the person responsible and enacted brutal vengeance, caring little that the man was the brother of a good friend of his, turning the friend into a bitter enemy in the process.

When the authorities began investigating the murder of Tomas' parents, and subsequently Tomas' murder of the alleged killer, the teenage Tomas fled. He managed to sneak across the border into Denmark and the UEG-controlled refugee city of Copenhagen. He made some connections and was able to get the necessary identification papers to become a UEG citizen. After that Tomas enlisted in the military as a way to further distance himself from his past. He proved to be an excellent soldier and Tomas was accpeted into the Armored Corps as a hovertank pilot.

The battles of World War IV gave Tomas an outlet for his negative aspects and he proved to be a skilled combatant, though his dark nature resulted in him being referred to as the Reaper by his fellow soldiers. A few months into the Second Robotech War, Tomas found himself among a group of Veritech pilots reassigned to the 21st ATAC.

Update: Reaper was killed in action in May 2031 during one of the 21st's earliest encounters with the deadly Bioroid Invid Fighters.

Call Sign: Kessler's cold, aloof demeanor and lethal combat abilities earned him the call sign Reaper, a reference to death (Grim Reaper).
