Personality
Julia is in many ways to stereotypical blonde. In public she is usually perpetually cheerful and fluffy. Secretly, though, she is greedy and manipulative, well versed in using her looks and charm to get whatever she wanted. Used to being the center of attention, Julia will frequently ingratiate herself with whoever she sees as being the popular or publicly powerful members of whatever group she finds herself in. In keeping with her cheery public image Julia usually dresses in pretty clothing when not in uniform, and even when in uniform she generally makes herself up so she looks her best. Julia also has a collection of stuffed animals she keeps in her quarters.
Biography
Julia comes from a well-off upper middle class family. Her father was a very important person involved with the reconstruction of the city of Phoenix and his family enjoyed the lifestyle that his status brought. Julia was a child of privelege and was able to enjoy the closest thing to a normal childhood that was possible during the Reconstruction era. She attended prestigious public schools and was a cheerleader and the prom queen in high school.
Julia's father's connections could have gotten her a cushy job in the government or the private sector, but after high school Julia wound up following her then boyfriend into the military (where his family had arranged for him to take officer training). Once in the Academy, though, Julia discovered she had a talent for demolitions, and that she actually enjoyed blowing things up. When her boyfriend was killed in a training accident she chose to remain in the military.
Julia's family connections would ordinarily have put her on track to become an officer, but near the end of her training her parents mysteriously vanished. Rumors were that they had stolen millions from her father's company and run off to Central America, but Julia didn't believe that. Unfortunately her parents' disappearance meant Julia no longer had the social pull she once had. Still, she stayed in the military, and began using her looks and seduction skills to maintain her social standing.
Julia's efforts generally paid off and she managed to avoid any front line combat during World War IV, despite being a qualified hovertank pilot and combat engineer. She even managed to unearth some clues about what had happened to her parents, thanks to her then boyfriend (a member of the GMP). Waht she found out, unfortunately, seemed to indicate that the rumors were in fact true, that her parents had stolen the money and run off, abandoning her. She decided not to pursue things further, knowing it would only reflect poorly on her.
By the time the Second Robotech War was underway Julia's luck ran out. Separated from her then boyfriend who had been transferred to another base, Julia started up an affair with another officer. When she ended that relationship he took it rather poorly and in revenge for being dumped he arranged for Julia to be transferred to the most dangerous posting he could find: the 21st ATAC.
Julia has so far managed to keep up her usual behavior in the 21st. She frequently charms other (male) members of the squadron to do the work she has been assigned for her. Her exceptional demolitions skills have come in handy on a few occassions though, earning her a degree of respect from some of the Blackjacks (though her roommate, Thumper, still threatens to kill her). Julia has also found something of a kindred spirit in fellow beautiful and manipulative person Damien Ortega and the two have entered into a relationship.
Update: Julia was killed in action in June of 2031. She was trapped aboard the Robotech Masters mothership attacking Australia and died when Captain Mace detonated a nuclear bomb to destroy the vessel.
Call Sign: Having grown up being one of the popular girl in school, Julia carried that arrogance with her when she entered the Academy thus earning her the nickname Prom Queen (somewhat ironically Julia had in fact been the prom queen in high school).
