- Name: Ralph Pulaski
- Rank: Sergeant
- Call Sign: Lost Boy
- Date of Birth: May 23, 2003
- Place of Birth: North America
- Status: Assigned to Civil Defense in New Zealand
Personality
Ralph is generally a sensitive, solitary individual. He is very focused on his studies, so much so that he generally appears unkempt and has little time to develop lasting romantic relationships (though he seems to have no trouble making friends). He is soft-hearted, brave and scrupulously honest, traits that both help and hinder his efforts at becoming a doctor. Because of his family's precipitous fall from wealth, Ralph is generally quite miserly with his possessions and money.
Biography
Ralph is the youngest of four children, with three older sisters (though one is actually his fraternal twin, older by only a few minutes). His family were very wealthy, his father being a top-level executive who ran the African subsidiary of a major corporation, but they lost everything when his father was betrayed by a business rival who seized the company assets and set himself up as one of the major players in the New Empire of Greater Zimbabwe.
Ralph and his family were forced to flee and eventually relocated to North America where they are still trying to rebuild. Ralph showed his intelligence at an early age and his parents had hoped he would be able to get a university education, but those hopes were dashed when they lost their fortune. Ralph's only option for an advanced education now lay by enrolling with the military. Ralph reluctantly signed up, choosing the Medical specialty so he could eventually become a doctor.
His military career went well for several years, and Ralph's soft-hearted demeanor helped him make many friends. His only black mark comes from a botched field surgery where a patient died. It wasn't Ralph's fault but he took the fall for it so as to not end the career of a talented fellow surgeon. Afterward Ralph was assigned to the 21st ATAC and he is working toward improving his medical skills to the point where he can earn his PhD and leave the service to become a civilian doctor. If that does not seem possible he may instead try for officer training so he can at least become a proper doctor in the military rather than a field medic.
Update: Lost Boy continued to serve valiantly in the 21st, saddened by the carnage and death he was witness to, and a reluctant participant in. At the end of the 21st's final battle with the Robotech Masters he found himself the senior surviving member and responsible for not only his battle-shaken teammates but also a group of alien refugees, survivors of their former Masters' attempt to be rid of them. He took the mantle of command reluctantly, and would frequently defer to Bullseye in combat situations, but nevertheless Lost Boy managed to keep the team and the refugees together and alive until they reached the safety of New Zealand. When Bullseye's hovertank was destroyed in combat with pirates, Lost Boy gave him his own tank and voluntarily left the 21st, choosing to remain in New Zealand and help the Civil Defense and putting Bullseye in charge of the 21st.
Call Sign: One of Ralph's friends and fellow soldiers took a maternal liking to him early in his military career and she started to refer to him as her "little lost boy" because of his demeanor. His other friends seized on the affectionate term and it evolved into his call sign.
