- Name: Robert Graves
- Rank: Lieutenant
- Call Sign: Deadman
- Date of Birth: August 30, 1999
- Place of Birth: North America
- Status: Unknown
Personality
Graves is generally a trusting person. He is modest and cheerful, but with a calculating mind. He does not take betrayal lightly and is not a forgiving person. He is generally fearless in battle and little is capable of fazing him. His occasional ruthlessness in battle has frightened more than one enemy, and a few teammates as well. He still has a habit of collecting bits of technology, a holdover from his days of scrounging as street kid.
Biography
Robert Graves is an orphan who had to scrape out a living as a child. He joined the military at 16 and became part of the fledgling Southern Cross. He served during the Malcontent Uprisings, where he earned the enmity of several mercenaries working in South America at the time. These men had connections and Graves was almost dishonorably discharged on trumped up charges but he had connections of his own and survived.
Graves was involved in a serious accident a few years ago that put him in a coma for several months and left him with distinct facial scars. This is the source of his call sign, as he was initially not expected to survive. Robert was in line for a squadron command when a live-fire accident killed a good friend of his and shook his confidence. He was assigned to the 21st where he has been regaining his confidence and will likely be given his own tank squad in the near future.
Update: Deadman served honorably with the 21st as its second-in-command throughout World War IV. After the war he was awarded his own command, the 57th A.T.A.C. based out of New Albuquerque in the North America Quadrant. It is not known if he survived the Second Robotech War.
Call Sign: When Robert was involved in a near-fatal accident the first responders who initially assessed his injuries kept saying he was a "dead man". He wound up surviving the accident but his comrades adopted the term as Robert's new call sign.
