Southern Cross Who's Who - Cassandra "Copycat" Cormier

Personality

Cassandra tries to blend in wherever she goes, maintaining a non-descript appearance and humble demeanor. She tries to be diplomatic and helpful whenever possible, not wanting to cause trouble. Her situation forces her to be deceitful, but she is very brave. Her life in the EBSIS has left her somewhat hard-hearted, though.

Biography

Cassandra Cormier is not her real name. Cassandra's family is from France and they survived the Zentraedi assault and made their way to the refugee camps in Denmark. For an unknown reason her family were forced to flee, exiled to EBSIS territory in Germany. When she was 15, Cassandra snuck back across the border to the refugee camps. She joined the Southern Cross in the hopes of someday being able to go back and resuce the rest of her family.

Since her family are considered persona non grata in UEG territory, Cassandra adopted her current identity. She tries to blend in wherever she goes, so as to not attract too much attention. While she tries to make friends, she does not want to form any lasting relationships. Her assignment to the 21st is more from lack of not trying to get out of the assignment than any specific reason to be assigned to the squadron.

Update: Cassandra tried to maintain her distance from her teammates, but as she went into battle after battle with them by her side she could not help but grow close to them. Though she tried to avoid it, she even started to develop feelings for one of her fellow tankers, Geoff Richards, who had been making frequent overtures of friendship in an effort to break through Cassandra's reluctance. Had they had more time, perhaps something might of developed, but tragically Cassandra was killed in action aboard a Robotech Masters mothership in the 21st's last battle of the war and she died with the closest friends she'd ever had still having little clue as to who she really was.

Call Sign: Early in her military career Cassandra's attempts at blending in generally involved her adopting the speech patterns, mannerisms and habits of the people around her. This led to her being called a copycat on several occasions and the name stuck as her call sign.
