 Earth
The homeworld of humanity. Ravaged by a series of alien attacks, Earth finally fell to invaders in the early 2030s. Infested
by the alien Flower of Life in the wake of the Second Robotech War, Earth was invaded by the Invid hordes. Battered and in
disarray, Earth's defenders fell quickly and the Invid soon took control. In areas where the Flower of Life grows, the
surviving human populace is frequently used as slave labor to process the alien plant for the Invid overlords. The Invid
Regiss rules from the Reflex Point hive complex near the Great Lakes. This massive fortification is clearly visible from
orbit, even through the debris cloud (an artificial ring made up of the wreckage of human and alien space fleets from
previous wars). Pockets of resistance exist across the planet, waging a guerilla war against the alien occupiers until
the day humanity's children return from the stars to reclaim their home. |
Solar Colonies and Bases |
 Moon Base ALuCE-1
Once home to several outposts, Earth's moon now holds only one, the Advanced Lunar Chemical Engineering base. Formerly a research
outpost, ALuCE was militarized during the Second Robotech War. Almost three times her original size, ALuCE is the only
permanent Expeditionary Force presence in the Earth system. What little intelligence exists about the situation on Earth
is the result of scouting missions dispatched from ALuCE, which sits on the far side of the moon, perpetually facing away
from Earth, invisible to the Invid sensors. ALuCE-1 will be a primary staging area for any attempt to liberate Earth. |
 Mars Base
The Expeditionary Force's Mars assets have been combined into a single military complex, dubbed simply Mars Base. In addition to
the large ground complexes (Mars I and Mars II), Mars Base also consists of an orbital staging and ship repair facility (Mars III).
Mars Base is home to the Mars Fleet of the Expeditionary Forces, the largest concentration of REF personnel, ships and
equipment in the Solar System. The forces of Mars Fleet will form the spearhead of any attempts to liberate Earth. |
 Jupiter Base Io
The Io Deep Space Relay Station was established during the final planning stages of the Pioneer Mission.
The base is a space station occupying an orbital path near the orbit of the volcanic moon Io. Originally
a major hyperspace communications link with the REF, Io was relegated to backup when Space Station Liberty came on-line.
It resumed its importance as a communications and early warning outpost when Space Station Liberty was moved out
of the Solar System prior to the Invid invasion. Recently, however, a hyperspace relay was built at Moon Base ALuCE-1, once
again relegating Io Base to a backup roll. Io has since become a deep space surveillance station that, along
with the REF's small Jupiter Division, patrols and monitors the outer Solar System. |

Deep Space Stations
The Expeditionary Force's space stations are giant factory satellites, captured from the Zentraedi as the Robotech Masters' empire
collapsed. There have been five of these stations; beginning with the first factory satellite captured by Earth forces back
in 2013. This factory satellite was stationed in Earth orbit and was responsible for the construction of the original Expeditionary
Force vessels, culminating in the SDF-3. This satellite vanished in 2023 when it failed to reappear after executing a space fold
to join the Pioneer Mission. Once adapted for human use, these space stations become an outer space mix of a military town and
factory town, complete with self-contained cities to house and support the civilian shipyard and mecha factory workers and the
military personnel on board the satellite. The remaining factory satellites are listed below. |
-
Space Station Liberty
Deep Space Station Liberty was discovered during the first wave of exploration by the Expeditionary Fleet. It was taken back to Earth space
where it became the main spaceport, drydock, and hyperspace communications relay for United Earth Forces in the Solar System. Communication
between Earth and Liberty was disrupted for much of the Second Robotech War, limiting the Expeditionary Force's ability to render
aid. To protect the Space Station from the impending Invid invasion of Earth, Liberty was relocated by space fold to deep space, where
it now serves as one of the primary space docks and communications outposts of the Expeditionary Forces. In the two decades since its initial
capture, Space Station Liberty has undergone a series of extensive refits, modifications, and upgrades; so much so that it retains
no resemblance to its original Zentraedi form.
|
-
Space Station Freedom
Freedom was the first factory satellite captured using intelligence obtained on Tirol. Freedom was immediately put to use constructing
new Expeditionary Force vessels for use against the Invid. It has been heavily modified from its original form, but is not as far
along in its redesign as Space Station Liberty. Freedom is a major staging base in the Invid War.
|
-
Space Station Independence
The Independence factory satellite was captured after the end of the Sentinels campaign, shortly after contact between the Pioneer Mission
and the rest of the Expeditionary Forces was re-established. Like Space Station Freedom, Independence has been heavily customized for
human use and is another major staging base for the Expeditionary Forces engaged in the Invid War.
|
-
Space Station Sovereign
Sovereign is the most recently acquired factory satellite and is still being converted for human use. It retains its original
appearance, reminiscent of the original Zentraedi factory satellite captured by the Robotech Defense Force.

Colony Worlds
After the near annihilation of humanity by the Zentraedi it was decided that, in order to prevent such an event from causing the
extinction of the human race, a series of interstellar colonies would be established. This way even if another alien invasion succeeded
in wiping out all life on Earth, humanity would survive on another world. Several colony ships were built and sent out until the
advent of the Second Robotech War and the Invid War made further colonization attempts too risky. Plans are underway to replace
the older Angel class colony ships with newer, more heavily armored vessels. The Expeditionary Forces hope this will allow
colony efforts to resume. |
- Eden
Eden was the first Earth-like world found by the Recon Fleet and consequently became the first of Earth's extra-solar colonies.
Highly successful, Eden is home to three major settlements, including an REF outpost, and a population in the hundreds of
thousands.
|
- Hesperus
Less hospitable than Eden, Hesperus is home to a large mining colony. The planet is rich in several metallic ores and is a major
provider of raw materials to the Expeditionary Forces.
|
- Providence
Though larger than Earth, that planet that would become home to the Providence colony already had a thriving ecosphere. This made
it an excellent choice for colonization and Providence has become a major agricultural world, helping to feed the Expeditionary Forces.
|
- Elysium
Colonization of Elysium got off to a rocky start when what looked like a promising planet turned out to have severe weather patterns
that occurred seasonally on the western continent. Despite this, the colony is now thriving, in part due to its location halfway
between Tirol and Earth, making Elysium a major stopover point for Expeditionary Forces in transit to and from the Sol System.
|
- Nova Europa
Nova Europa is a small but growing colony on a rocky planet orbiting an orange star. The colonists were made up of mostly
refugees who had fled Europe after the devastation of the First Robotech War.
|
- Persephone
Persephone is another agricultural colony, though newer and less established than Providence. The planet's biosphere was less
compatible with the vegetation planted so crops required additional genetic engineering to grow, and the planet needed some
extra terraforming.
|
- Zephyr
The Zephyr colony is beginning to look like one of the more successful efforts at spreading humanity among the stars. Recon Fleet
surveys revealed the planet had both large mineral deposits and large tracts of arable land. As efforts increase to take
advantage of these natural resources the colony has been growing at an impressive rate. Due to the availability of both farming
and mining jobs, a number of Tirolian refugees and micronized Zentraedi have taken up residence on the colony.
|
- Ariel
The Recon Fleet discovered the planet that is now home to the Ariel colony by accident. Preliminary surveys had not marked the
system as one that would harbor planets, but a navigational malfunction dropped an REF vessel there. When the ship ran scans
it discovered what is the most beautiful and pleasant world found to date. A colony ship was diverted there and the Ariel colony
established. The planet has little in the way of exploitable resources, but the colony has rapidly become a favorite
vacation site for Expeditionary Force members.
|
- Haven
Originally just a small colony, Haven has recently become an important world. While exploring, colonists discovered what
appeared to be ruins of an older civilization, one apparently abandoned for centuries or millennia. Scientists have
begun a more detailed examination of the ruins in the hopes of learning about the planet's earlier inhabitants.
|
- New Troy
The latest colony, settled nearly a decade ago, New Troy is still in the process of being terraformed. Colonists still live
in the pressurized habitats they came in.

Alien Worlds |
 Tirol
The third moon of the gas giant Fantoma, Tirol is the homeworld of the Robotech Masters and seat of their interstellar empire.
When the Robotech Masters fled the
planet they stripped it of most of the remaining resources. Those left behind were eventually conquered by the Invid, who
came in search of their old enemies. The populace is now rebuilding with the help of the Robotech Expeditionary Force, who
helped liberate the world from the Invid. Tirol is home to one of the largest Expeditionary Force bases outside of the
Solar System. Tirol is also home to the United Earth Plenipotentiary Council, the de facto Earth Government-in-exile.
Native Species: Tirolian |
 Optera
Optera is the homeworld of the Invid. Originally a verdant garden world, Optera was defoliated by the Robotech Masters when the
scientist Zor discovered the key to the energy source protoculture in the Invid Flower of Life. The rape of their world turned
the Invid from docile beings to a warlike race bent on revenge. The surface of Optera is now covered by a miasma of genetically
engineered organisms, the result of experiments by the Invid Regent and Regiss. Expeditionary Forces attempted to invade Optera
shortly after the Sentinels worlds were liberated, but sorely underestimated the strength of the Invid forces and their
conviction to not lose their homeworld. As a result of this disastrous campaign, the Expeditionary Force changed its tactics
to target and liberate Invid occupied planets instead; weakening the Invid war machine prior to attempting another assault
on Optera.
Native Species: Invid |

Local Group (the Sentinels Worlds)
The Local Group worlds are the homeworlds of the various aliens that made up the group of freedom fighters known as the Sentinels.
These worlds all became part of the Robotech Masters' interstellar empire after Tirolian scientist Zor attempted to cultivate
the Invid Flower of Life on each of them. As the Robotech Masters' empire fell, these worlds were left on their own, but only for
a short time as the Invid, detecting the Flower of Life, soon conquered them in turn. With the help of the Robotech Expeditionary
Force, the Sentinels were able to liberate their homeworlds from the Invid. |
Karbara
Karbara is a huge planet whose primary resource is a reddish ore called Sekitan, which is highly combustible. The Sekitan became the
primary fuel source for many worlds, making Karbara a very important world. Karbaran scientists eventually perfected Sekitan power
technology to the level where it was comparable to nuclear energy as a power source. The only drawback from this steam-based energy
system was the soot and slag produced as a by-product. As a result, the planet's atmosphere became heavily polluted. When other
worlds began developing cleaner energy technology, the Karbaran economy collapsed and the planet became isolationist. This lasted until
it was brought into the Robotech Empire after Zor used it was one of his test sites for growing the Flower of Life.
Native Species: Karbaran

Praxis
Praxis was once either home to or a colony of an ancient advanced civilization. The current population is the result of an experiment
by this early race. Other than the Praxians, the only evidence of this prior civilization are bits of remnant technologies, most
notably the gene-bank that maintains the current populace and strange, anti-gravity devices. Praxis itself is an Earth-like world,
relatively unspoiled by technology.
Native Species: Praxian

Garuda
Garuda is a mysterious, mist-enshrouded world. The landscape is relatively flat, like a bog or moor; lush with vegetation. The native
Garudans make their homes in camps in the highlands. Garuda also appears to have once been the site of an ancient advanced civilization,
as there are scattered remnants of ancient technology the natives refer to as being gifts from the gods. The most unusual aspect of
Garuda is its atmosphere, which provides m nourishment to all life on the planet, and also has a strange narcotic effect. The native
species exist in a state of almost perpetual euphoria. All life on the planet exists in an idyllic tranquility, and sentient
species have a sense of heightened awareness. However, the native species are also dependent on the atmosphere and must carry some
with them to breathe from time to time or they will perish. Off-worlders who breathe the Garudan atmosphere for any length of time
are similarly affected and may find it is impossible for them to leave the planet.
Native Species: Garudan

Spheris
Spheris is a planet made of crystal and water, and little else. The sentient life for on the planet is evolved from a space-borne
virus carried to the surface in a meteor shower. The viral strain thrived and eventually evolved into a rudimentary nervous system
and brain. Eventually this evolutionary process resulted in a race of beings carved out of the crystal that makes up the planet.
The planet is a multi-faceted wonderland, bathed in an eternal rainbow of light because of the natural prisms in the landscape. There
is no other native life on the planet besides the Spherians.
Native Species: Spherian

Peryton
Peryton is a devastated world. Primitive and savage, Peryton has been the victim of thousands of years of warfare, the result of a curse.
Millennia ago the civilization was split into two warring factions. In the final battle, the rival kings fought to the death. As the loser
lay dying he placed a curse on the people of the planet. By some strange magic the curse bore out, and from that day forth, every day
the final battle would replay. Somehow all the combatants would rise from the dead and the battle fought over again. Different events could happen
but the end result was the same. For two-thousand years this continued, laying waste to the planet. Those not directly participating in
the recurring battle tried to live as best they could, but nothing ever lasted. Unaware of the curse, Zor used planet as an experimental
plantation site, hoping the presence of the Flower would help the world recover; though in the end it did little but bring the
Invid into the equation. Eventually the Sentinels and the REF were able to break the curse and end the cycle, finally freeing the
planet. Preliminary archaeological efforts seem to indicate that, like Praxis and Garuda, the planet was once home to an ancient
civilization. REF scientists think that some remnant technology from this advanced predecessor civilization may have been somehow
responsible for the "magic" that caused the curse.
Native Species: Perytonite

Haydon IV
Haydon IV is a mysterious world, veiled in secrecy like its inhabitants. On the surface it appears to be a perfect world, where nothing
bad ever happens. This was why Zor chose it as one of the sites to try and restore the Flower of Life. Even after being conquered by
the Invid little changed on the world. Since its liberation, Haydon IV has resumed its mysterious nature.
