Several of the adventures used for episodes of TimeLost were based on published modules and sourcebooks from various Doctor Who RPG games as well as from some non-RPG sources.
Doctor Who Roleplaying Game (Cubicle 7)
The following adventures are based on material published by Cubicle 7 for the Doctor Who Roleplaying Game, also known as Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space; the most recent official Doctor Who RPG (as of 2020).
- The Space Trap (Season 2, Episode 3) is based on the adventure of the same name from The Eighth Doctor Sourcebook.
- Judoom! (Season 2, Episode 5) is based on the adventure of the same name from The Adventures Book included with the original edition of Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space.
- Grip of the Kraken (Season 2, Episode 9) is based on the adventure of the same name from the Gamemaster's Companion.
- Schrödinger's Expedition (2019 Holiday Special) is based on the adventure of the same name from the All of Time and Space Volume 1.
- Death Comes to Toytown (Season 3, Episode 3) is based on the adventure of the same name from the Gamemaster's Companion.
- Ghost Engines (Season 3, Episode 6) is based on the adventure of the same name from the All of Time and Space Volume 1.
- Ice (Season 3, Episode 12) is based on the adventure of the same name from The Eighth Doctor Sourcebook.
The Doctor Who Role Playing Game (FASA)
The following adventure is based on a module published by FASA Corporation for The Doctor Who Role Playing Game, which was printed in the mid-1980s.
- Sparks of Guilt (Season 2, Episode 4) is based on the module The Iytean Menace.
Time Lord (Doctor Who Books)
The following adventure is based on the Time Lord RPG, published by Doctor Who Books (an imprint of Virgin Publishing) in 1991.
- The Templar Throne (Season 3, Episode 8) is based on the adventure of the same name included in Time Lord.
Other Sources
Some adventures were also inspired by or based on non-RPG materials.
- The main character Ursa was inspired by the Digger graphic novel by Ursula Vernon.
- The sewer explosion from Ottawa Underground (Season 2, Episode 7) was based on an actual historical event.
- Yukon Gold (Season 2, Episode 8) is heavily based on the short story Strange Things Done by Michal Wojcik, published in the anthology Clockwork Canada from Exile Editions.
- The flying saucer encounter in The Island (Season 2, Episode 12) was inspired by an historical UFO sighting.
- Red Thunder (Season 3, Episode 5) is heavily based on the short story Where the Seas Roll Up Their Thunder by Kate Story, published in the anthology Those Who Make Us from Exile Editions.
