VENDETTA
Vendetta was a war-time team of Axis agents organized and led by the Iron Swastika. Unlike Axis Amerika, which operated primarily in the United States, Vendetta's theatre of operations covered Europe, the Far East, and occasionally Africa, though they too sometimes operated with America's borders on spying and sabotage missions. Beyond their obvious propaganda value, Vendetta was a key factor in Axis military operations. They were often sent in to augment Axis forces that required assistance, and their very presence on the battlefield would demoralize whole divisions of Allied troops. Luckily, Vendetta was always being sent on different missions, had they remained in one area for any length of time the course of the war may likely have been altered to disastrous results.
- Iron Swastika: The Iron Swastika was perhaps the greatest tactical leader the German army had, as well as perhaps their finest soldier. Allied intelligence believes that Swastika is the result of secret experiments to produce a super-soldier, and that he was the only test subject to survive. Whatever the case, Swastika appears to be in peak physical condition and is a master of modern weaponry. He usually enters battle with clad in what appears to be a suit of medieval armor, wielding a sword and shield.
- Dr. Fright: Dr. Fright is the code name given to Dr. Albert Erlich, one of the Reich's greatest scientific minds. Dr. Fright is an expert in biological, chemical, and psychological warfare. he has developed a range of chemical and electronic weaponry that can attack the psyche of opponents. His Fright Bombs have been known to cause the bravest of Allied fighting units to break rank and run. Dr. Fright is also the commander of the notorious Blautot (Blue Death) commando units.
- Grendel: According to Nazi propaganda, the superhuman agent known as Grendel is supposedly the actual Grendel of myth. It is more likely that he is a German metahuman who uses the Grendel identity to add an aura of power and fear. Whatever the case, Grendel is a powerful foe. He can fly and possesses superhuman strength and recuperative abilities. He has decimated armored platoons single-handedly and his reputation as much as his fearsome visage strikes fear in the hearts of his enemies.
- Citius: The super-speedster Citius is Italy's contribution to Vendetta. The origins of his powers are unknown but it is believed that his speed rivals that of Allied super-humans Flash and Johnny Quick.
- Nunchuk: The martial arts master called Nunchuk is Japan's representative on the team. He does not possess any super powers, but is a master martial artist and deadly with his weapon of choice (and namesake), the nunchaku. Nunchuk usually only particpated in Vendetta missions in the Far East, or on their occasional attack on the U.S. homefront. Nunchuk was also a member of the Iron Swastika's post-war team, the Allies.
