HISTORY
During the 1920s adventurer, and mercenary, Archer Hayes raided a small temple in the Far East. Ignoring the warnings of the temple priests, Archer took a large, strangely colored gem from its place in the temple's altar. The resulting explosion destroyed the temple, but Archer somehow survived.
Archer discovered that the blast had given him superhuman physical abilities and rapid healing. He continued his mercenary endeavors and eventually came to the attention of the Nimba Cult, an ancient order of ninja assassins. Archer was brought into the Cult and trained as a ninja assassin. His first assignment was to kill the daughter of the British ambassador. Finding himself unable to commit this unspeakable crime, Archer fled. The Nimba Cult has been hunting him ever since.
As the years passed, Archer realized he was not aging and he returned to the United States just over a decade ago. He took a job as a stunt man in Pacific City while continuing to work as a mercenary and assassin in his new masked identity of The Predator. Though he traditionally used the martial weapons from his Nimba Cult training, Predator has begun acquiring a high-tech arsenal to augment his more traditional weaponry. This is a result of his efforts to defeat his frequent enemy, and fellow Nimba alumnus, Manhunter as well as the increasing number of super powered opponents Predator has been encountering.
The villain Enforcer recruited Predator into his organization of metahuman mercenaries called the Assassin's Guild, which led to a confrontation with Justice Inc., an encounter that raised public Predator's profile higher than it had been in years. The incident also led to Predator being recruited by Death Spider as a member of the first Enforcers of Injustice, with Predator serving as Death Spider's analog to Manhunter on the team. This led to another encounter with Justice Inc., though Predator again avoided capture.
Predator has recently joined forces with the World Crime League. By earning their gratitude he hopes to gain a powerful ally to help him when the Nimba Cult inevitably tracks him down. He took part in the recent Gang War in Superior City that was instigated by the League, which brought him into conflict with the Enforcers of Justice.
POWERS & WEAPONS
As a mercenary Archer has experience in military tactics and is skilled in the use a variety of vehicles, including piloting planes and boats in addition to being adept at driving cars, motorcycles, and trucks. He is trained in, and has a great deal of experience in, the use of modern firearms; but Predator prefers to use more martial weapons. Predator typically carries a katana and shuriken whenever he is in costume, and will frequently carry a bow and arrows; but as noted he has also begun carrying more hi-tech equipment and weapons as he has begun to cross paths with super heroes more frequently in his work.
