LEGACY
HISTORY
The villain team known as Legacy is made up of descendants and relatives of established super villains. The team was assembled by a third party whose identity is unknown but who was responsible for providing the team members with their unique equipment. Because at least some of the equipment was thought to be in the possession of the U.S. Government it is suspected this individual has connections to the Suicide Squad or some other organization that would have granted him or her access to the equipment.
Legacy first appeared in Superior City as part of a wave of super criminal attacks arranged by the Crime Cartel. The team crossed paths with the Enforcers of Justice but avoided capture. In the team's next appearance they were working for the immortal villain Vandal Savage. On this occasion Legacy were defeated by a temporary alliance of the Enforcers of Justice, the New Adventurers, and the Wilde Court and were subsequently imprisoned.
Random and Brainstorm have since been freed by the terrorist organization Tarot and have been recruited as members of that organization's leading Major Arcana.
The members of Legacy are:
- Lenz: Lenz is the son, or possibly grandson, of Jonathan Cheval, the villain known as the Monocle who was a foe of Hawkman. Lenz possesses several of the technologically advanced lenses created by his predecessor, which he has fashioned into a pair of goggles. These lenses have the ability to produce energy beams, create holographic illusions, and warp light.
- Random: Nicole Clinton is the neice of David Clinton, who battled the second Atom as the time travelling villain Chronos. She is equipped with a number of Chronos' inventions that give her the ability to manipulate time in the local area. She can slow down or speed up time, making it appear to observers that she possesses superhuman speed. She can also "rewind" time, traveling backwards in time by several seconds or minutes to relive (and change) recent events. She also possesses a gadget that allows her to regress a target along their personal timeline which was used against the sorceror Greymalkin, returning him to a point where he was much less skilled in the mystic arts.
- Vortex: Vortex is a younger brother or possibly a cousin of Anton Lamont, the Hawkman foe known as the Fadeaway Man. He appears to be in possession of the Cloak of Cagliostro originally worn by the Fadeaway Man, or a similar garment. Possibly mystical in origin, the garment appears to be able to open a dimensional portal that lets the wearer project a stream of matter, usually elemental in nature. Observed effects are streams of ice, water, fire, and earth. Assuming the garment is the same or similar to the Fadeaway Man's cloak it would also allow the user to teleport.
- Brainstorm II: Patricia Storm is the neice of Axel Storm, the original Brainstorm who fought against the Justice League. Patricia wears a tiara that appears to duplicate the functions of the original Brainstorm helmet, which included molecular-level psychokinesis. So far the tiara has been shown to grant Patricia the ability to animate inanimate objects, teleportation, and the power to alter living creatures on a sub-cellular level, though these changes to the target's cellular structure appear to be temporary.
- Javelin II: The new Javelin is the younger brother of the original Javelin, a super villain from Germany who was eventually forced into the Suicide Squad where he was killed on a mission. The new Javelin possesses slightly enhanced versions of the original Javelin's gear - several "trick" javelins plus body armor and jet boots enabling the wearer to fly.
