THE GOLDEN AGE

The first heroic period of the modern age is usually referred to as the Golden Age. It is considered to start with the debut of the Crimson Avenger and the Sandman in 1938 and end with the retirement of the Justice Society in 1951. While most of the Mystery-Men (the term super-hero was not used until later periods) were members of the war-time All-Star Squadron there were a handful of lesser known teams and individual heroes who operated during this period. They, and their enemies, are listed here.
